Spain vs Germany – World Cup 2022

One of the most anticipated matches of the 2022 World Cup group stage takes place at the Al Bayt Stadium on November 27th as Spain and Germany go head-to-head in Group E.

Spain were handed an easy start to the 2022 World Cup and they took full advantage of this by walloping Costa Rica 7-0. Luis Enrique’s side have previously struggled to convert their chances, however, they had very few issues in front of goal here and having missed a handful of chances in the first half, it could easily have been more. La Roja can secure qualification with a victory here.

Germany were the second side in two days to suffer a humiliating defeat in Qatar. Hansi Flick’s side have looked short of confidence in 2022 and although they dominated possession and created a number of chances, they were swiftly undone by Japan’s fluid attack. Flick was bitterly disappointed by his side’s performance and will now be fully aware of the uphill challenge that faces his side. Although they will be expected to beat Costa Rica in their final fixture, they cannot afford to take anything less than maximum points here.

10Bet predict this contest to be a fairly close one, although Spain’s price has shortened following their convincing victory on Wednesday. They can be backed at 7/5. Germany are available at 37/20.

Spain vs Germany Best Odds

Spain vs Germany Betting Tips

Spain can enter this game with very little pressure. This psychological advantage should help Luis Enrique’s side here and they should be able to take all three points. The former Barcelona boss was forced to shuffle his pack due to two or three of his players picking up a cold pre-match, however, he has plenty of talent to choose from and should come up with the perfect game plan.

SPAIN WIN

Germany had 78% possession and weren’t overly tested in the first half against Japan, however, as the Blue Samurai grew in confidence, they asked questions of the German defence and Hansi Flick’s side struggled to cope. Spain possess far more firepower and could easily notch a few if the German back-line fails to take more control.

OVER 1.5 SPAIN GOALS

Although we’re predicting a Spanish victory, it’s hard to foresee Germany failing to find the back of the net. Spain’s defence has been excellent in recent months, however, Hansi Flick’s men created several good chances on Wednesday and if they can produce a similar performance here, they should be able to convert at least one of them.

Spain vs Germany Analysis

Spain

Although Spain put in a terrific performance on Wednesday afternoon, they still have plenty of talented players who didn’t make it off the bench. The likes of Eric Garcia, Pau Torres and Pablo Sarabia will all be hoping to play some part in their remaining group games.

b Alvaro Morata, Rodri

Team news: Three Spanish players were left on the bench for their opener after picking up a cold from their hotel’s air conditioning unit. Whilst Dani Carvajal was left on the bench, Alvero Morata featured late on and found his way onto the scoresheet. Luis Enrique could be tempted to start both players here as they offer slightly more experience than their replacements.

Predicted Lineup: Unai Simon, Dani Carvajal, Rodri, Aymeric Laporte, Cezar Azpilecueta, Ferran Torres, Sergio Busquets, Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Alvaro Morata.

Germany

Germany’s striker issues continue to plague them with Kai Havertz having put in a hugely disappointing performance against Japan. Hansi Flick may opt to mix things up in the final third in order to improve his side’s conversion rate.

Key Player/s: Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich.

Team news: Mario Gotze and Leon Goretzka both came off the bench on Wednesday and will be hoping to feature once again. Some fans were critical of Hansi Flick’s use of subs and the coach will be looking to better utilise his bench this time around.

Predicted Lineup: Manuel Neuer, Niklas Sule, Antonio Rudiger, David Raum, Nico Schotterbeck, Ilkay Gundogan, Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz.

Spain vs Germany Prediction

Spain will enter this fixture with the pressure firmly off. In contrast, Germany will know that only a victory will be suffice to keep their competition alive. Luis Enrique’s side should be able to take advantage of that psychological boost and book their place in the next round.
