I’d heard about the Betzone sportsbook before I decided to research for this review, but didn’t have much experience with the site. It’s quite well known on account of being run by the same folks who used to operate Stan James – a huge site in the UK.

Betzone had all the makings of a top sports betting site, but could it deliver? Read my full Betzone review below to find out.

Betzone Strengths and Weaknesses

All of my sportsbook reviews are authentic and objective, and part of that means I have to point out both the positives and the negatives.

Here are the main pros and cons of Betzone:

Betzone Strengths

✔️ Top offers: From free bets to old-fashioned deposit bonuses, I found loads of interesting Betzone promotions with favourable wagering requirements.

✔️ Great app: Personally, I don’t always use mobile apps and often bet directly on the site. But with Betzone, I was really impressed by the free mobile app.

✔️ Niche markets: The sheer number of markets here is impressive, covering everything from the expected football and horse racing options to esports and other interesting markets.

Betzone Weaknesses

No live support: Despite being run by a major company with tonnes of experience, Betzone does not currently have a live chat feature.

Live games missing: When you place a real-money bet at lots of sites, you’ll get a chance to watch events like Wimbledon or the Grand National. However, there’s no live streaming option at Betzone.

Conclusion

There are a few weaknesses with Betzone but overall it’s a solid site with plenty to offer. From impressive Betzone odds to snazzy promotions, there’s a lot here to make the site worth your time.

Betzone Sportsbook Review

The Betzone sign up offer was one of the first things that caught my attention, as £60 in free bets is slightly higher than the usual amount you’d expect at most online bookies. To claim it, you’ll need to click on the actual promotional banner on the right hand side because I couldn’t find a ‘Promotions’ tab, which in itself was an unusual observation in my Betzone review.

But don’t worry – that was more of an anomaly than a trend. Overall, the Betzone sportsbook was similar to what you’d expect at a standard site, except with even more markets and betting options. Betzone football and horse racing are some of the most prominent sports here, but there is also a lot of stuff you won’t find at every site, like Gaelic hurling, politics, and an extensive darts section.

It’s not all rosy here, as the Betzone payment methods are a genuine and obvious letdown. You can still make a deposit using debit cards, but you really don’t have many other options – and this will be a problem for some players.

Another glaring problem is the Betzone live chat – or should I say lack thereof. I can’t stand it when sites don’t have a live chat option as it’s the most useful and appealing way for me to get in touch with the team. Even if email responses are fairly quick – as they are at Betzone – I still feel much more comfortable with live chat.

This doesn’t mean the site is outdated though, and this is demonstrated by their top-notch mobile app. I’ll speak about this in more detail later in my Betzone review.

Betzone Score

Bonuses & Offers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really appreciated the simplicity of claiming the Betzone sign up offer, and the £60 in free bets was also impressive.

Betting Variety ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As I’ve mentioned already, the number of sports and varied markets are a key selling point for Betzone.

Banking Options ⭐⭐

It’s difficult to think how they could reduce the options when it comes to deposits and withdrawals here. It’s as limited as you’ll find at UK bookies.

Mobile experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Betzone app is highly competitive, even when compared to some of the best options in the industry. Slick, smooth, great for in-play and Betzone cash out – it has it all.

Payout Speed ⭐⭐⭐

The Betzone withdrawal time is actually quite decent, but I can’t mark it too highly due to the fact that there are so few options.

Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Whether you’re using Betzone casino or the sportsbook, you’re covered by the same assurances of a UKGC license and a company which has been operating successfully since 1973.

Software & Games ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In addition to the large number of sports and markets, you can also bet on virtual sports, casino slots, classic table games and live casino tables.

Betting Experience ⭐⭐⭐

Overall, the betting experience here is solid. However, it loses some marks due to the lack of payment methods and live chat.

Customer Support ⭐⭐

The massive thing holding back Betzone customer support is the lack of live chat. If they add this, the score will increase significantly.

Is Betzone Legit?🔒

Betzone is operated by Bet21, and this means that – from the overall perspective of the owners – they’ve been in the industry since 1973. Half a century of experience is always a good thing, in my opinion.

With a UKGC license and a strong association with Stan James – a major former brand on the UK high street – I see absolutely no reason for you not to trust Betzone. This site is as safe as they come.

Betzone Welcome Offer 🎁

At Betzone sister sites and all online bookies in general, welcome packages are a common way to entice new customers to join a betting site. And the Betzone welcome offer is a solid one.

Betzone Sign Up Offer Terms and Conditions📝

As with most betting sites across the UK, the banner offer to get £60 in free bets isn’t as simple as it sounds, as you do need to place multiple bets to qualify.

But there’s little to be concerned about in the terms and conditions for Betzone UK players. You have one week to use your free bets, and you can only win a maximum of £500 from bonus funds – which is in fact higher than you’ll find at many bookies with similar offers.

One key thing to note is that the bet must be placed on a single market, not an accumulator.

Betzone Odds 🔢

If there’s one thing I’ve tried to make clear throughout my Betzone UK review, it’s that the odds here are terrific. In particular, they cover some major markets like top goal scorer and outright winner for football competitions, and frequently match or even edge the competition when it comes to the best odds.

Betzone Best Sports Features

I find that a lot of betting sites are quite similar, and one of the key ways I differentiate them is through what I’d call ‘special features’. This is a broad term that covers lots of things, but they’re aspects which make a site stand out and offer something different and advantageous that you won’t see at most sites.

Betzone In-Play Betting 📺

It’s true that in-play betting is quite common these days, but it’s a completely different experience depending on the site you use. At Betzone, there’s a key at the bottom of the in-play tab which helps you understand the markets at a glance, with different colours representing different stages of the game.

Betzone Cash Out 💰

Cashing out is another fairly common feature, but it’s brilliant at Betzone. Some UK bookies freeze the prices too often in my opinion, but Betzone has a lot of flexibility so that you can cash out when you actually want to cash out.

Betzone Sports Coverage

Betzone has a classic approach to sports coverage, in line with what you’d expect at most top UK bookies. By this I mean that football and horse racing take precedence, but there’s also a lot more sports covered – and with extensive markets, too.

Betzone Football ⚽

Although there’s nothing original about making football one of the top priorities at a betting site, it’s still a smart move – this is my go-to sport for betting and I suspect it’s the same for many of you reading now.

At Betzone, the layout plays a huge role in making the experience so enjoyable. It’s crisp and clean – and the industry-beating odds don’t hurt, either.

Betzone Horse Racing 🏇

Another hugely popular sport to bet on at Betzone is horse racing. Click ‘view racecard’ on any race for a really useful graphic which shows you the price history for each horse, alongside details like weight and – of course – price.

Betzone Betting Markets & Types of Bets

Betzone UK players will already be familiar with a lot of the betting markets and bet types at Betzone, especially given the fact that a lot of them are focused on football and horse racing. But there’s still a lot of variety here, and it’s worth taking you through the main markets that will appeal to you if you’re new to Betzone.

Betzone Betting Markets

•  Outright: One thing I’ve mentioned a few times in my Betzone UK review is how good their outright odds are for popular markets. This is where you bet on the overall winner, top goal scorer etc. in a league or tournament.

•  Winner: While the outright market covers an entire competition, you can also just bet on the winner of a single event. For example, you can bet on Djokovic to win a match at Wimbledon.

•  Boosted odds: For Betzone specifically, you can also bet on markets that have temporarily boosted odds. To do so, click on the ‘Betzone events’ tab and see what the latest boost offers are.

Betzone Types of Bets Available

•  Single: A straightforward bet on one outcome, and one of the most common types of bet on the Betzone app.

•  Accumulator: Multiple singles combined into one wager, where all parts of the bet must be correct for it to be declared a winner.

•  Handicap: If you want bigger odds, check out handicap betting, where one team or participant begins with an imaginary advantage (or disadvantage).

Betzone App📱

In my opinion, the Betzone app is at the top end of what you would expect at any online bookies in the UK. Along with Betzone casino, all of the sports you can bet on via desktop can also be found on the Betzone app.

But it’s not just the fact that there’s so much to do which stood out to me when I downloaded the app. It was also that it looks great, with larger buttons than the desktop and a cool, dark mode-esque colour scheme.

Finally, you can use their Betzone shop locator to highlight the nearest physical betting shop. Working in conjunction with your smartphone’s capabilities, this quickly shows you how far away you are from a Betzone betting shop – something I’ve seen on very few rival apps.

Betzone App via App Store

Betzone Casino 🎰

Although this is primarily a review of Betzone as a sportsbook, the site also houses a significant number of slots and table games – so I’ve included my thoughts on Betzone casino.

The casino is split into two main sections: ‘Casino’ and ‘Live Casino’, each of which have a clickable tab at the top of the page. Fortunately, you can flick through the games based on the individual software provider. I found this to be one of Betzone casino’s most useful features, as it’s a quick way to find games that are similar to those you already know and enjoy.

And there are more cool features that can help you navigate your way through the giant selection of slots on offer at Betzone casino. For example, if you click on the ‘i’ icon next to a slot, you’ll be given a snapshot of useful information like how to play the game and what features it has.

There are 80 live casino tables with tonnes of variants on casino classics such as roulette and blackjack. I tried a few out and everything worked smoothly, with good response times when I opened and closed new titles.

Banking Options 💳

When I began my Betzone UK review, I told you I was going to be upfront about the pros and the cons. Banking is one of those cons.

First, I should be clear – your funds are extremely safe at Betzone. I wouldn’t give a site a review which was even slightly positive if it smelt like a scam.

But the sheer lack of options when it comes to depositing and withdrawing really hampers the experience here. If Visa, Maestro and Mastercard are not realistic options for you, you’re pretty much out of luck.

For me, Visa deposits are standard, so it really didn’t represent a problem. But I would fully understand the frustration of players who want to make a deposit using fairly normal e-wallets like Skrill and find themselves with no option to do so.

If you’re happy to pay by card, you’ll find that transactions are smooth and quite quick. I guess this is one advantage of Betzone having so few payment methods; the ones they do have are really streamlined.

How to Deposit at Betzone❓

•  Create an account if necessary, then log in
•  Head to the cashier section
•  Click ‘Deposit’
•  Choose from the deposit options. There are only a handful available
•  Type in the amount you wish to deposit
•  Click ‘Confirm’ to finalise the deposit
•  Your funds should be in your account almost instantly

How to withdraw from Betzone❓

•  Log in and visit the cashier
•  Click ‘Withdraw’
•  Type in the amount you wish to cash out
•  Click ‘Confirm’ to withdraw your money
•  You’ll usually have to wait a few days for the funds to arrive, but there are no hidden fees

Betzone Customer Support 📞

Another weak area of Betzone for UK players will be the customer support area. In the modern era, live chat is more or less a requirement, but it doesn’t exist here.

Not only that, but there’s no phone number. We know that Betzone is a reputable company and has decades of experience in the industry, so the fact they’ve so far neglected to have live chat or a telephone line as customer support options is a bit baffling to me.

Nonetheless, you can get in touch with the team by clicking on the ‘Contact Us’ link. It seems their preference is for you to get in touch via their social channels, which at least have 24/7 coverage. Given the kind of angry comments I usually on betting site socials, I’m surprised this is the path Betzone UK has voluntarily chosen.

Betzone How To

Betzone is a relatively straightforward site and you should be able to find your way around quite easily. But a quick guide never hurts, so here’s mine on how to play at Betzone.

How to Open an Account on Betzone❓

Betzone Registration

•  Go to the top of the page and click the ‘Sign up’ button
•  Input your details, including email and password
•  Enter your promo code, if you have one
•  Fill out the rest of your details over three pages of prompts
•  Confirm to create your account

How to Place a Bet at Betzone❓

•  Click ‘Login’ at the top of the page
•  Enter your name and password
•  Click the big, orange ‘Login’ button
•  If you need to make a deposit, do so via the cashier
•  Choose a sport. You can view an A-Z list in the left-hand menu
•  Select your market, then click on the odds to add it to your bet slip
•  Fill in your stake and click ‘Confirm’ to secure the bet

Betzone Sister Sites

I mentioned earlier in my Betzone review that this bookie comes from the same people who previously brought us Stan James, and so it was no surprise to see that Betzone has some nice sister sites. Here’s a quick review of some of them:

•  Rhino: Has a similar look and feel to Betzone – if you love Betzone, you’ll probably enjoy Rhino as well.
•  Gamer Wager: A video game betting platform, ideal for esports fans.
•  Vickers: Big on horse racing and live casino, with a very classic feel.
•  Planet Sports Bar: As the name suggests, the ambiance here is like an online hangout where you can place sports bets.
